Punctuation marks are the signs that indicate how emphasis and intonation should be made in order to give the most accurate meaning in an article, and guide the reader in this regard. In a text without punctuation marks, the reader will have difficulty reading the text; listener will not be able to make sense of the text. We talked to our 7th grade students at Atacan Private Secondary School about the importance of these signs in our Turkish lesson and reinforced the “Punctuation Marks" with a nice activity.

 Each of our students made a model of a punctuation mark they chose and did a presentation about them. They also composed a song about the use of the punctuation marks they chose and presented it to their friends. Thus, the signs that our students prepared, presented and learned about during the education process became permanent.
