We conducted a laboratory study together with our 9th grade students to see in practice what the concept of average speed in Force and Motion unit depends on. By the help of this study, they were able to better correlate the theoretical knowledge they learned in class with a more practical one. Thus, proving that the theoretical knowledge that we acquired during the course isn’t just a book knowledge. They have learned how and in which situations it will be useful in our daily lives, and how much we experience in reality the things that are taught and studied in our physics lessons. We at Atacan Private School, believe that such visual and tactile studies increase our students’ interest in the lesson as well as increase their success and curiosity about science.
