We organized a trip to Kadıköy Municipality-Disaster Education and Awareness Park with the 4th-grade students. On this trip, our students received practical training on what they could do before, during. and after a disaster. Also, they gained knowledge about creating a safe-living culture.

In the earthquake experience hall, our students received a realistic earthquake experience using a simulator, utilizing data from earthquakes in our country. It was explained and demonstrated why ‘’Drop, Cover, Hold On’’ should be done during an earthquake, how the items that could fall or topple must be secured so that they do not cause harm anyone, and how to exit the house or school safely.

Our students had fun playing the “Find your partner, get your bag ready in case of disaster" activity and listed what should be in the disaster toolkit. In the five-dimensional cinema, it was aimed to increase the awareness by explaining what to do before an earthquake, such as recognizing earthquakes on moving platforms, reducing non-structural hazards, understanding main and aftershocks, having a disaster kit, and creating a family disaster plan.
