eTwinning Project

eTwinning Project

eTwinning is a project partnership between two or more European schools on a predetermined topic. This project allows schools to communicate, to collaborate, to develop projects and to share them as well. In short, it offers a platform for teachers and students to participate alonside these European schools and to be part of the most exciting learning experience.

On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, we held presentation of our eTwinning overseas project for parents with the theme: “Under the Sea”, which was carried out by our Kindergarten Preparatory A, B & C classes. It was wrapped up  a certificate ceremony to reward our students for their hardwork.

The aim behind our international eTwinning project was to improve the target language, which  in this case, was English. Projects like these enable our students to communicate with students from the participating countries in Europe culturally, to introduce our own culture and to learn about the cultures of other partner schools. Within the scope of the project, each month, there was a focus topic and our monthly activities were held accordingly. These activities were; ‘Life and Animals Under the Sea’, for November, ‘Mammals Living Under Water’, for December. ‘Reptiles living under water’, for January. Crustaceans living under water, for February. ‘Echinoderms living under water’, for March. ‘Sponges and worms’ for April. The materials prepared by our students were exhibited on the “Twinspace” platform. At the end of this process, the students’ parents were invited to our school to be shown  the work that had been done, and the projects created by their children were also exhibited . At the same time, samples were made from the work that was done by our partner schools within the scope of the project.

After the presentations, students were awarded with certificates of participation to appreciate and recognise their hardwork and dedication for the during of the project. Within the scope of our project, our goal of raising awareness amongst our students about the importance of learning English was achieved.
