The “Atatürk Poems Reading Contest" was held by the Turkish-Literature Department of Atacan College, within the scope of “Atatürk Week" activities, in order to help our students acquire the achievements of Kemalism and instil a love of reading poetry. For the competition, our 5th grade students presented their Atatürk themed poems in front of the members of the jury and their teachers. The performance of the students was evaluated by the members of the jury according to certain criteria.

        In the competition, Bilge Ece Kurt from 5/A class came first, Asya Çiçin from 5/A class came second and Emir Derviş from 5/B class came third. All students participating in the competition were presented with certificates for their participation.

   This activity has turned into gains such as paying attention to voice, emphasis and intonation, using gestures and mimics, distinguishing the characteristics of the poetry genre and the intensity of emotion in this genre. In addition, our students, who defeated the excitement of the stage with the competition, also experienced emotional moments by commemorating the Great Leader M. Kemal Atatürk and made the audience feel the same.
