We organized a trip to the Can Geyran Seashells Museum with the 4th grade students of Private Atacan Primary School. During the trip, our students learned about the history of seashells by observing more than a thousand types of seashells. They learned the place of seashells in the world of animals, their classification among themselves, their locations and features. They had the opportunity to examine some goods of trades, musical instruments, toys, ornaments and accessories that human beings have made with seashells for centuries. They learned about the science of malacology and watched a short film about the lifestyle of seashells.

Bacause of the observations they made on this trip, our students once again experienced that every living thing is a part of the natural balance and their contribution to our lives. They learned that the living conditions and diets of sea creatures are different from other living groups on earth. They realized the importance of  keeping the seas clean in order to protect these creatures.
